Position: Senior Staff Accountant
Department: Finance & Accounts

Location: SMCHS Block B, Karachi
Work Mode: Onsite
Timings: 4:00 PM – 1:00 AM

 

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and dedicated Senior Staff Accountant with 4–6 years of relevant experience in accounting and bookkeeping. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with accounting systems and a solid understanding of financial processes, reporting, and compliance. This role is critical in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting overall financial operations.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Record Management:
    Maintain and record day-to-day financial transactions accurately in accounting systems. Ensure proper documentation and verification of all financial data.
  • Financial Reporting:
    Assist in the preparation of financial statements, reports, and summaries. Analyze financial data to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Account Reconciliation:
    Perform monthly bank reconciliations and reconcile general ledger accounts. Identify, investigate, and resolve discrepancies promptly.
  • Accounts Payable & Receivable:
    Manage invoicing, payments, and collections. Ensure timely processing and monitoring of receivables and payables.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting Support:
    Assist in budget preparation, expense tracking, and financial forecasting activities in coordination with the finance team.
  • Audit Support:
    Provide required documentation and assistance during internal and external audits. Help resolve audit observations and implement corrective actions.
  • Compliance & Controls:
    Ensure adherence to accounting policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Stay updated with changes in accounting standards.
  • Record Maintenance:
    Maintain organized financial records and ensure proper documentation, retention, and confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration:
    Work closely with internal teams (finance, operations, and management) to support financial decision-making and resolve queries.

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • 4–6 years of relevant experience in accounting and bookkeeping
  • Proficiency in accounting software, including QuickBooks, Xero, and other ERP systems
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
  • Good knowledge of MS Excel and financial tools
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work in a fast-paced environment

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional certifications such as ACCA, CA (Inter/Finalist), or ICMA (preferred but not mandatory)
